The Great Outdoors

Ahhhh.... the great outdoors.  I have always liked (extra emphasis on LIKED) camping, now I can say I like it more.... Why is it that we eat so much better camping?  Is it the cool mountain air that stirs the hunger, or is the food not better, it just tastes better??? No, I'm sure it has to do with planning and buying and making food that is superior to the fare at home..(no offense to any at home chefs with the initials Kim or Kristi).  

The weather was perfect!! Low at night was around 65 and during the day it was around 78.... Manon was the perfect baby, she cried maybe a total of about four minutes for the four days we were there.  We had to spank her for that!! it hurt me more than it hurt her.. Just Kidding it didn't hurt me at all...

I'm not sure where the posing comes from... but it seems as though all of the kids inherited some sort of vaudeville gene that must have skipped a generation.  

I originally had the movie hold for 6 seconds on each photo, but it was way too long for anyone that wasn't there to appreciate.  If you want the longer version please let me know and I will do my best to get you tickets to the premier that will be released at a later date in all major cities within Johnston county.......

Ok ok... I'm sure you can see that we are new to this blog thing.  I've been looking around and ours is pretty lame in comparison.  I think it's easier for me to make little slide shows instead of posting a bunch of pictures.  In this clip you will see Jacob, my youngest boy, with black marker all over his body; apparently this is what you do on a Sunday when your family is watching a movie downstairs.  Brigham has his pj's on his head and later Jacob is wielding the crochet hook of justice.  The grand Finale is Manon and her Hic-ups.  We just had to share.

Thanksgiving was nice... lots of leftovers and great friends.

Halloween Preview

We had a Halloween party at our Church building on the 25th.  The Chili Cook-off was great, except for the heartburn.  I know you have been waiting for me to get to the pictures, so here they are... Jacob-Football, Brigham-Link,  Joseph-Harry Potter,

So here we are... we finally have a blog...Yay!!! Kim is due any day.....ok ok... her due date is November 20th, but we have a feeling it will be much sooner..

Here is a picture of Jacob, he just lost his two front teeth, and no it wasn't an accident.  They were retired.  

We went to the annual Halloween party at church last night and got the boys all sugared up.  Not only did the kids get candy, but we also had a chili contest.... talk about heartburn city.  All good though, there was even a chili with cilantro in it.... yum yum!!  We had to police the Kids candy as well.... you know Mom and Dad Tax....(just trying to teach them early).  

Kim and I sang Grandpa Marsdens' "The Lord is My Shepherd" today in Sacrament meeting.... Kim has the most beautiful voice.  You know that is what hooked me right from the beginning a few 13 years ago.  She was singing at the SPEC Center at Boise State... I guess our blind date was a little slanted, I had seen and heard her sing.  What a life changing moment.....
